A website called https://univac.ugc.gov.bd has been launched to register corona vaccine for university students. The Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) has launched a web link to bring students of the country’s universities under the Covid-19 vaccine. Students who do not have National Identity Card can register for Covid-19 Vaccine using this link through birth registration certificate.
In this context, UGC member Prof. Sajjad Hossain said the commission aims to bring all the teachers, staff and students of the country’s universities under the vaccine by September 30. Students who are unable to register for Vaccine due to lack of National Identity Card will be able to do so using the Univac web link. And students who have a national identity card will also be able to register For Vaccine using this link by connecting to a security app. The exact number of vaccinated and registered students can be found through this web link.

UGC launched this link (https://univac.ugc.gov.bd) on Thursday. Students who have not yet registered for the Vaccine will have to complete the Vaccine registration by September 27 using this link. The UGC has urged those students who do not have a birth registration certificate to collect it as soon as possible. In this case, the UGC has requested the concerned authorities to issue birth registration certificates to the students on priority basis.
He added that the UGC would request the health department to take necessary action after receiving the information on the registration of students.
It may be mentioned that the Ministry of Education has informed that the university will be able to reopen subject to the decision of the Academic Council and Syndicate of the universities once the registration of vaccines for all the students is completed by September 27.

It was decided at the meeting that once the registration of vaccines is completed, the students will be able to go to the medical center of the university and get vaccinated. The Department of Health will take all necessary steps, including technical assistance, to expedite the immunization of students.
